Method of Participation/ Instruction for Obtaining Credit

Participants should complete all assignments and tasks in the Canvas Platform using access information provided by the University of the Pacific, Benerd College. Upon completing engagement with the content and passing multiple-choice test questions, completion will automatically be logged. 

You must receive a score of 80% or better on the final post-test to earn a certificate. You will have a maximum of 3 attempts to successfully complete the post-test. Certificates will be accessible within 30 days of completion, and instructions for accessing CME certificates are provided below. CPE credit will be available in CPE Monitor.

Learner Access to Certificate(s) of Credit and/or Transcript(s):

  1. Visit ww2.highmarksce.com/ucsf/ to login.
    If you have never logged in before:
    1. Type in your email address as your username
    2. Click the “Get It Now” link just below the green login button.
    3. Use the temporary link sent to your email to access the system
    4. Update/save your profile information.
    5. Once all your information is verified, you will be taken to your “Dashboard".
  2. If you do not see Tiles, click on the word “Dashboard” on the left side of your screen, just below the blue banner.
  3. On the Credits tile, click the Online Courses link. It opens a page where you can print certificates.

For Pharmacists (Only): To Verify and/or Manage your CPE Certificate(s):

  1. Log into NABP e-Profile to view your CE transcript and ensure that your claims have been received and processed by the ACPE: https://dashboard.nabp.pharmacy/#/login

If you do not have your NABP e-Profile ID

Accreditation

Joint Accreditation: In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented University of California, San Francisco, and University of the Pacific’s Benerd College. The University of California, San Francisco is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

This offers up to 10 credits for physicians, physician associates, nurse practitioners,   nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, psychologists, and social workers.

Physicians: UCSF designates this enduring material for a maximum of 100.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

  1. Foundations Module is worth up to 20 credits.
  2. Inclusive Care & Special Populations Module is worth up to 20 credits.
  3. Pharmacotherapy Module is worth up to 20 credits.
  4. Diabetes Technology Module is worth up to 20 credits.
  5. Diabetes Education & Wellness Module is worth up to 20 credits.

 

Nurse Practitioners: This educational activity has been approved for up to 100 contact hours under the requirements of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (AANC). For the purposes of recertification, AANPCB accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM issued by organizations accredited by ACCME as an equivalent number of hours of participation. The course contact hour details are the same as indicated in the Physicians section above.

Physician Associates: PAs may claim a maximum of 20.00 Category 1 credit(s) for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. AAPA accepts Category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME. The course contact hour details are the same as indicated in the Physicians section above.

Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. For the purpose of relicensure, the California Board of Registered Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. (Report up to 100 hours of credit and list “CME Category 1” as the provider number.)

Psychologists: The California Board of Psychology accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ as continuing professional education. Psychologists outside California should confirm with their state board whether AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ has been approved for use toward the Continuing Education requirements.

Registered Dietitians: The Commission on Dietetic Registration accepts as continuing professional education those courses that meet the standard of relevance to Dietetic practice and have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Dietetic Assistants may also enroll in these courses.

 

ACPE Credit
Pharmacists: This activity is approved for up to 100 contact hours (10 CEUs) under the ACPE University Activity Number JA0000302-9999-24-002-H01-P.
ACE ASWB Credit

Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, UCSF Continuing Education is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 100.00 clinical continuing education credits.
