Medicare Part D Outreach Clinics
Get in on the action

Are you a high school or undergraduate student who is interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy? Come see for yourself our PharmD students in action.

PharmD students at a Medicare Part D Outreach Clinic

Our PharmD students help minimize out-of-pocket medication costs, perform a comprehensive medication review and offer over a dozen health care screenings to predominantly seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries. You will be able to sit side-by-side with our students as they provide these services and see the impact they are making on the lives of those they serve. You will also have the opportunity to network with University of the Pacific students, faculty and alumni.

Complete HIPAA training

You will receive an email from BRIDGE, a service used by University of the Pacific's Risk Management with a link to the HIPAA online training course. Please complete the training at least one week in advance of the event. The training takes about an hour to complete.

Get a flu shot

As mandated by the State of California and ordered by the San Joaquin County, all health care workers are required to either receive annual influenza vaccination or sign a declination statement and wear a mask during the annual influenza season.

If you have not received the influenza vaccine prior to the event, you will be able to receive the vaccine from us at the start of the event that you will be attending. You will not be able to participate until you have received the influenza vaccine.

On the day of the event:

  2. Bring a pen.
  3. Please park remotely as the parking spaces closer to the event are reserved for our patients.
  4. Check in at the registration table to receive a name badge and a clipboard with a learning activity.

You will spend time watching and learning from our pharmacy students while they conduct MTM, ensuring that the patient's medications are safe and effective to take together, and help beneficiaries find the optimal Medicare Part D plan. We encourage you to ask questions of our student pharmacists when they are not directly engaged in patient care.
  6. Self-select at least two stations based on your personal interests and complete the learning activity.
