Join Dr. Sethu Kuruvimalai, Professor and Director of Pacific's MS in Cybersecurity program, to explore current and future cybersecurity trends from an academic perspective. Prior to joining University of the Pacific, Dr. Sethuraman held senior cyber security managerial roles at many organizations including Adobe, Shutterfly, and IBM. He was part of IBM’s MSS division for six years working closely with the CISO office and threat research groups.

Modern Cybersecurity Challenges

Gerard Laygui leads this discussion on key operational cybersecurity challenges faced by government organizations today. Gerard is the current Cyber Operations Branch Chief for California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and leads a task force that oversees the most critical Cyber incidents that happen in the state.

Adam is the Agency Chief Information Security Officer at the California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS), and previously served as the Chief Information Security Officer for the California State Controller’s Office (SCO).

Cynthia is a Cybersecurity Vulnerability Manager at Ernst & Young (EY) with over 2 decades of experience as a cybersecurity operator and a Certified Ethical Hacker in industries as varied as Healthcare, the Military and Finance.
